6G network in India

6G network in India

Recently the Prime Minister of India has unveiled a vision document to introduce high-speed 6G technology based communication services by 2030.

What is 6G technology?

•  It is the sixth generation of mobile networks and the successor of 5G cellular technology

• It is designed as an improved technology providing internet speeds up to 100 times faster than 5G

• Unlike 5G, 6G can provide ultra-low latency with speeds of up to 1 terabit per second

* while 5G technology can deliver internet speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second at its peak

About India's 6G Roadmap

•The 'India 6G Project' will be implemented in two phases *First from 2023 to 2025 and second from 2025 to 2030

• The first phase will provide support for innovative ideas and proof-of-concept tests

• While in the second phase, the government will try to implement internet protocols and create test beds, which will create a 6G ecosystem.

•The Government of India has also appointed an apex council to oversee the project. The council focuses on issues such as identification of spectrum for 6G use, creating an ecosystem for equipment, and the main focus on new technologies such as terahertz communication.  , artificial intelligence for tactile internet connected intelligence, etc. will be on

6G technology in other countries

•South Korea has outlined a 6G research and development plan with an investment of Rs 1200 crore in the first phase till 2025 The 'Integrated Optical and Wireless Networks' (IOWN) forum in Japan has proposed 'for 6G'  Publishes White Paper on Vision 2030

• It sets key technology guidelines for 6G network infrastructure development in four dimensions (cognitive capability, responsiveness, scalability and energy efficiency)

•Various areas of development of 6G technology have been identified and pursued in China* 6G network will support connectivity plus sensing plus artificial intelligence with security
